About the Team

Global Technology Infrastructure has invested $2bn in a new generation data centers across the globe. Data Center Services (DCS) is responsible for the development of Data Center Strategy and Architecture to meet the firm’s compute and storage capacity requirements. DCS is also responsible for the management of Data Center capacity, operations, governance reporting, and metrics.


The Data Center Operations Engineer II is a senior support resource in the day-to-day technology operations of JPMorgan Chase mission critical data centers. The purpose of this role is to maintain operational stability and handle customer requests while working on shifts to supports the 24x7 operation. Duties include installing and configuring enterprise class technology hardware, troubleshooting hardware and network issues, maintain change control process in the data center, and support 3 rd party vendor activities. This position is full-time, working with team members on a rotating shift providing coverage during daytime, overnight, weekend and holiday hours.

Shift hours for this position covers 6am to 6pm on a rotating schedule that could involve any day of the week or weekend. Scheduled shift hours will average 80 hours over the course of 2 week period.

If hired, there will be an initial 9 month onboarding/training period. Working hours will be standard daytime business (M-F 8:00-17:00) until training is complete and may also include some travel to other sites in the United States.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Working knowledge of a physical IT infrastructure (server, networking, SAN)

  • Experience with ITIL control processes

  • Knowledge of Data Center technologies and associated environmental tooling and monitoring

  • Experience supporting enterprise-class hardware deployments

  • Understanding of network concepts (switching and routing, perimeter security)

  • Familiarity with infrastructure applications (e.g. DNS, Active Directory, etc)

  • Understanding of operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, Unix, AIX, etc)

  • General knowledge of storage systems

  • Basic knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines a plus
