Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities:

ISYS Technologies is seeking a Ground System Engineer.

Clearance:

  • TS/SCI

    Job Duties:

  • Utilize strong analytical and troubleshooting approach / skills as required

  • Perform software maintenance support for Linux, AIX, SGI, PC compatible computers, and associated switching, network, and communications circuits and equipment

  • Provide feedback to Software Depot on software problems

  • Provide limited SYBASE system administration support for multiple system databases

  • Provide limited UNIX system administration support

  • Participate in software version testing and evaluation and provides feedback to the development and test community

  • Assist Configuration Management in software upgrades and changes

  • Document all software problems and follows up with accurate resolution

  • Interfaces with personnel to ensure proper operation of the software and hardware and ensures the timely resolution to problems and/or deficiencies

  • Maintain Access Control and works closely with System Administrators to ensure proper system operation and that problems are resolved with minimal downtime

  • Provide maintenance and support for on-going systems, including monitoring of system performance and data backups

  • Identify source of software problems and determines appropriate solutions

Experience Requirements:

  • General knowledge/skill of UNIX and/or LINUX

  • Basic knowledge of software scripting

  • Must be willing and able to work a shift schedule, which includes weekends and holidays supporting 24x7 operations

  • Position requires occasional travel to Boulder, CO and Colorado Springs, CO

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a dynamic environment

Desired Experience:

  • Satellite Operations experience

  • C2 System Anomaly Resolution experience

  • Satellite Ground Systems operations experience

  • Experience with SBIRS, DSP, GEO, HEO

  • AIX, LINUX, Shell Scripting, Perl, Python

  • Sybase database

  • Strong personal interaction skills
