Oracle Machine Learning Engineer in Aurora, Colorado

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Create new architecture for a moderate size product or a portion of a major product. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

Machine Learning Engineer*

This role requires broad knowledge of the current machine learning and statistical modeling methods and an understanding of how such methods are applied to manage infrastructure cloud. Prior experience as a data scientist is preferable. Knowledge of R, Scala and/or Python for data science is essential in this role as is prior experience in building machine-learning models using techniques such as regression, classification, recommendation, recursive neural nets, convolution etc.

Application of machine learning in a large scale setting using distributed learning algorithms is desirable.

The person in this role will be responsible for building models that are used for efficient utilization of resources. You will mentor other data engineers, data scientists and software engineers and you will work closely with our product managers in developing requirements and specifications for the software.

Qualifications:

PhD or Master s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Physics or other quantitative discipline like Financial engineering.

2 years of experience in building machine models in R, Python or SAS

Knowledge of implementing streaming models (dynamic / incremental models) is desired.

Hands-on expertise with SQL databases such as Oracle is required.

Knowledge of Apache Hadoop ecosystem, Complex Event Processing engines, Apache Spark, Spark MLlib and streaming systems is highly desired.

Excellent written and oral communication skills
