Oracle Principal Technical Analyst in Aurora, Colorado

Work with Oracle's world class technology to develop, implement, and support Oracle's global infrastructure.

As a member of the IT organization, assist with the analyze of existing complex programs and formulate logic for new complex internal systems. Prepare flowcharting, perform coding, and test/debug programs. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. BS or equivalent experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Principal Technical Analyst

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of Hyperion Planning and Essbase implementation experience. In addition, the candidate should:

  • Be able to translate business requirements into an application design

  • Know how to create Planning and Essbase applications from scratch

  • Have implemented PBCS applications (Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service)

  • Utilize best practices in application, web form, calculation, and report design

  • Possess a strong knowledge of designing, building, optimizing, integrating, and automating Essbase ASO, Essbase BSO, and Planning applications

  • Be familiar with the functionality of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE), Data Management, EPM Automate, and other ETL tools

  • Be familiar with Groovy and Jython scripting

  • Have experience writing in both MDX and MAXL languages

  • Know how to implement partitioning between applications

  • Have the ability to create calculations, forms, menus, and task lists

  • Possess the knowledge on how to implement process management

  • Understand how to set up security for users and groups and assign access in the applications and reports

  • Know how to optimally build reports using Financial Reports

  • Have the ability to run Essbase ad-hoc reports

  • Be able to migrate applications between multiple environments

  • Have managed User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions and familiar with writing UAT scripts

  • Have led training sessions for UAT testers and / or end users

  • Understand the application backup process

  • Possess knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes

  • Possess the drive to make project deadlines using scope, resources, and time as levers

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with all involved in your assigned projects

  • Be able to do minimal travel (approximately< 10%)

  • Be comfortable working with customers, managers, and other team members

  • Foster, promote, and encourage a positive team-working experience

  • Possess a positive attitude

  • Have the ability to translate technical concepts into terminology that non-technical people can understand

  • Be able to work as part of a virtual team, where team members can work all over the world

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Project

  • Have ability to learn and leverage Oracle’s existing systems, such as DRM and OIM, to improve the current processes

  • Possess the ability to mentor junior team members

  • Perform varied and complex tasks that will require independent judgement as well as team consensus

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, IT, or Financial Systems

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

As a member of the FP&A Financial Systems Team, you will be responsible for building and improving the Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications used within Oracle. To do this, you may work on projects independently or as part of a team. You will partner with other teams such as Product Development (PD) team to resolve product issues as they arise and Product Development IT (PDIT) and/or the Cloud Operation Team for server maintenance and issues. You will also use your product knowledge to help drive the strategy for how products will be used internally.
