Click here to find out what they have to say about the work we do and who we do it: https://youtu.be/H4YKy1_MshM As a System Engineer on EMOS program you will be responsible for systems engineering, integrating and testing releases of the ECLIPSE® Command and Control subsystem. To perform this task the engineer will learn the requirements and design of the ECLIPSE® subsystem in the context of our NASA customer’s operational environment, troubleshoot discrepancies, and perform integration and test of software releases. The Earth Observing Satellite (EOS) Core System (ECS) Mission Operations Segment (EMOS) program provides sustaining engineering and re-engineering for the Terra, Aqua, and Aura missions that are flown and operated out of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Raytheon is responsible for the sustainment and any customer requested re-engineering of the ECLIPSE® Command and Control subsystem. Responsibilities include: • Contribute to the completion of integration and testing of the ECLIPSE® Command and Control subsystem into the Engineering Development Lab (EDL). • Be part of a development team and attend daily meetings to discuss activities to be performed and discrepancies found with the software applications. • Develop scripted solutions to automate testing, assist with integration, and provide tools to the customer. • Propose innovative solutions to satellite command and control and other supporting software applications. Clearance Requirement: Must be a US Citizens with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance Required Experience, Knowledge, and/or Skills : • Bachelor degree with 2 years of related system engineering experience. • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl) • Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows and Networking • Ability to travel (less than 10%) to support fielded command and control systems • Must be a US Citizens with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance Desired Experience, Knowledge, and/or Skills (not a must have but a plus): •Familiarity with virtual infrastructures •Knowledge of System Engineering lifecycle processes •Experience in Requirements development/derivation/management •Experience with systems integration, verification and validation (IV&V) •Knowledge of satellite command, control and communications •Experience in satellite ground systems operations and maintenance support including: procedure development, training, transition, planning, installation, and deployment •Experience troubleshooting issues and developing technical solutions with satellite ground command and control systems •Experience in ground systems operations and maintenance support including: procedure development, training, transition, planning, installation, and deployment •Working knowledge of the ECLIPSE® satellite command and telemetry system •Experience with Satellite Commanding and Telemetry protocols Education Requirements: Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
