Metis Technology Solutions, Inc Satellite System Engineer in Aurora, Colorado
Perform SBIRS CLS Operations Satellite System Engineer (SSE)duties. Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satelliteflight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases.Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support inareas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command andcontrol of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on orbitmission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommendsalternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Providesfailure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetrydata. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks andrecommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance.Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies. The SSEsassist the Air Force operators in all spacecraft bus and payload operations byplanning and scheduling mission critical events, assisting in the generationand maintenance of command plans, technical advice and assistance duringanomaly resolution activities, documenting and trending system performanceand providing recommendations for optimal system operationalmethods and techniques. They assist the Air Force operators during spacecraftcommanding, ensuring proper execution of command plans, schedulingconstellation and ground system activities, participating in anomalyresolution activities, launch and early orbit activities, and documentingsystem performance. The SSEs monitor the SBIRS satellite constellation healthand performance by evaluating telemetry alarms and warnings, monitoringcommanding and responding to satellite anomalies when required. Also, localtravel to MCSB to perform these operations support duties as required(estimate 2 weeks per year per). This a rotating shift position for 24 X 7operations.
