Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Design Engineer for a position in Boulder, CO. The goal of the position is to help our team evolve R&D mission processing and machine learning applications for processing onboard hardware in a prototype setting.
As such, as the FPGA Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
-Developing an understanding of R&D mission processing and machine learning algorithms and help implement for hardware processing
- Development, integration and test of processor subsystem features and interfaces in FPGA hardware
- Requirements, FPGA code, and test bench development
- Timing analysis
- Unit test
- Support of debug and system integration activities”
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance required for this role.
Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience.

-Experience with VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog languages
-Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance required for this role.

1) HDL skills (Verilog/VHDL)
2) Matlab skills
3) C/C++ skills
4) FPGA knowledge (Xilinx & Microchip/Microsemi)
5) Rad-Tolerant/Rad-Hard experience (TMR, safeFSM, etc)
6) UVM (verification/testing) skills
7) HLS skills (Vivado-HLS, Vitis-HLS)
• Demonstrated experience in ASIC / FPGA life cycle (architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration & test).
• Knowledge of space-grade/qualified FPGAs and ASICs.
• Knowledge of digital design, development, and simulation.
• FPGA engineering process improvement activities.
• Model Based Engineering (MBE) and or Model Based Systems design (MBSD).
• Metrics collection, analysis, and reporting to senior leadership.
