Boulder Community Hospital Compensation Analyst, Senior in Boulder, Colorado

Starting rate of $35.85 per hour, additional consideration based on years of experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

Designs and implements compensation programs and policies to support the compensation strategy of Boulder Community Health. Conducts compensation analysis across the organization. Evaluates the effectiveness of compensation programs. Makes recommendations to maintain or correct competitive market position. Evaluates pay for jobs. Manages job description and market data warehouse processes. Creates presentations, communications and training materials.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education or Formal Training

Bachelor’s degree

Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)

Certified Compensation Professional is preferred

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Strong communication skills in listening, writing, speaking and presenting.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills that have been used in problem solving, compensation analysis and program evaluation.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including experience in using worksheets for complex calculations.

  • Ability to establish good working relationships within Human Resources and throughout the organization.

  • Ability to create accurate calculations and organization.

    Experience

  • At least four years of experience working in compensation.

  • Must be experienced in creating job descriptions, completing compensation surveys and using market data to price jobs.

  • Must be experienced in forecasting and administering organization wide pay changes.

  • Experience in health care compensation is preferred

  • Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.

  • May require long periods of working at a computer.

    INTERRELATIONSHIPS

    Must work in collaboration with Human Resources and all of Boulder Community Health.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs, implements, and supports compensation programs and policies for base pay and incentive compensation.

  • Conducts compensation analysis across the organization.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of compensation programs.

  • Makes recommendations to maintain or correct market position.

  • Leads the rollout of all annual pay increase activities; develops cost modeling and presents recommendations for leadership approval.

  • Uses worksheets to analyze data and support recommendations.

  • Prepares compensation survey data and submits it to vendors.

  • Collects market pay data from vendors.

  • Maintains market pay database.

  • Develops and delivers presentations and training for all levels of leadership, including new leader training, and compensation programs for base pay and incentive compensation.

  • Works collaboratively with all members of the HR department and employees across BCH to deliver compensation support.

  • Reviews and provides training and support for managers with the development and update of job descriptions.

  • Manages job description library.

  • Complies with all applicable regulations, including wage and hour laws.

  • Evaluates jobs to determine pay and FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) status.

  • Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission Standards.

  • Is familiar with organization, department and job-specific Environment of Care areas, including Life Safety, Utilities Management, Hazardous Materials Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control and Medical Equipment Failure.
