Responsibilities
As part of an editing team, the editing associate follows established processes, house style guidelines, and company templates to edit and format a high volume of technical reports, Excel files, PowerPoint presentations, blog posts, and other client deliverables in a timely, deadline-oriented fashion. Responsibilities include substantive editing, copyediting, detailed formatting, and other publication production activities for market research reports and client deliverables. The position works with and responds to inquiries from a geographically diverse group of consultants and analysts around the world.
Essential Job Functions
Provide detailed report formatting, substantive editing, and copyediting of a high volume of market research and technical reports (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to ensure quality and mitigate risk/errors while meeting assigned deadlines
Be highly proficient in the software needed to support editing of non-report files including presentations, blogs, graphics, proposals (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Sitecore), as well as software applications used for internal tracking (Teams and SharePoint)
Diligently handle publication duties for reports, including the creation of PDF files, website pages, and email notifications in a timely manner
Assist consultants and analysts in the use of company templates and style guide
Assist in updating company templates and resources to promote established procedures and industry-leading practices
Coordinate with other team members to ensure high quality reports and other deliverables
Other duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
Communicate with other team members to ensure consistency and help manage workflow
Work with analysts to identify problems and propose solutions that support company and team goals
Support resource planning for report publication, blog edits, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or a related field
1-2 years of professional editing experience
Sitecore web content management experience
Solid grammar and copyediting skills, including familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style
Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills including styles, templates, and charts
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams
Outstanding attention to detail and time management
Strong organizational and online file management skills
Versed in different communication styles including instant messaging, email, MS Teams, etc.
Ability to pass an editing test required
Currently reside in or ability to relocate to the Boulder area
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the above listed requirements:
- Any of the following Editing certifications: ACES, University of Chicago, University of Washington, or similar
Additional Requirements
The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
This salary range for this role is $46,000 USD to $55,000 USD depending on experience
