This position is in the Facilities Maintenance Division within the Office of Facilities and Property Management. The Incumbent will be the Administrator of the Building Management System (Metasys-Johnson Controls) and lead Direct Digital Controls technician assuring heating, ventilation and air conditioning, HVAC networks, building automation systems, HVAC IT security, IT updates and patches, programming, HVAC automation user accounts, trends, alarms and calibration at NIST Boulder, CO Campus are properly maintained. As the lead Direct Digital Controls Technician, they will be responsible for leading performance verification testing and commissioning of all HVAC environmental supporting automation systems in addition installs new systems/updates existing systems, troubleshooting, diagnostics to existing systems, and HVAC networks. Successful applicant will be responsible for properly maintaining automation programming, operating systems, automation backups, and networks for the various HVAC related automation systems in addition to work included in typical facilities related maintenance and operations. Incumbent shall perform Contracting Officer's Representative duties and project management on Direct Digital Controls related contracts. This position has physical requirements.

*Specialized Experience:To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 level (or ZT-III at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience Direct Digital Controls (DDC), maintenance work control, facility engineering, maintenance or construction in a campus type environment. An applicant who does not demonstrate in their resume that they possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade/pay band will be rated ineligible and disqualified from further consideration. * Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
