Zayoserves wireless and wireline carriers, media, tech, content,finance, healthcare and other large enterprises.Position DescriptionThe Systems Analyst II Linux/Unix employees in this role function asinformation technology (IT) professionals, serving as technical expertswho participate in, or oversee, a variety of analytical and technicalassignments. Assignments require problem diagnosis, solution development,technical documentation, implementation, ongoing administration, supportand maintenance across a variety of hardware, software, and networkproducts within Zayo's global information technology environment. This is acritical role for providing 24x7 availability to our corporate infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesOutage/Impairment Analysis - Assist with identifying causes ofimpairments, outages or customer impacting issues and work to identify howto recover systems as quickly as possible.Troubleshooting - Based on tickets and/or alarms, analyze troubleindicators that are causing or may lead to instability and work to resolvethemMACD - Modify, Add, Change or Delete new services, functions based ondefined roles and procedures.New Setup - Work on builds of new locations, servers, infrastructure,etc. following defined processes and proceduresAssigned Tickets/Projects - Work on tickets and specific projects that havebeen assignedRespond to and resolve help desk escalations based on Standard OperatingProcedures (SOP)Complete related work orders or request-based tasks based on SOPDocument - Author and utilize technical documentation as a resource to resolveissues in areas with less expertise.Develop and maintain a basic understanding of diagnostic tools.Complete systems maintenance activities following SOP, such as patching,health checks, operating system updates, validating changes andmaintaining operational and configuration standards. Report anomalies tosenior staff for resolution.Understand and adhere to Zayo's risk and regulatory standards, policiesand controls.Identify risk-related issues requiring escalation to management.Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the Zayo brand.Maintain Zayo's internal control standards, including timelyimplementation of internal and external audit points together with any issuesraised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.Share rotational on-call after hours support responsibilities with the team.Self-direction is required and must be fostered within the team. You will berequired to understand complex systems and the interactions with other complexsystems as well as infrastructure architecture competencies we will growwithin the team.You will work with your team to develop long-range strategies based oninfrastructure technical trends and business forecasts. The Technology teamcommitment to leadership means you will strive to understand and adhere totechnology/business best practices and adapt the program as needed.Required Qualifications:Working knowledge of infrastructure architecture, data centers, servers,and networksWorking knowledge of Linux operating systems, particularly Red Hat /CentOS and Debian / UbuntuWorking knowledge of UNIX operating systems, particularly Solaris, HP-UXWorking knowledge and skills to install, configure, secure, monitor,and maintain such serversAble to develop and maintain scripts written in Bash, Perl, Python,YML, etc. to automate operationsFamiliarity with virtual machines, and VMwareFamiliarity with basic server hardware maintenance
