This position reports to the Boulder Operations Finance Director and is responsible for financial support of the site operational excellence, cost savings analytics, and manufacturing material usage metrics.
This position will also provide financial business partnering support for cost savings and materials used in production efficiency initiatives and be responsible for developing processes, financial models and frameworks that enable better business decisions impacting cost savings and material usage variance (MUV) metrics and support continuous improvement.

A Day inTheLife
The key responsibilities of this role include collaborating with Operational Excellence leadership, focus factory management, and other stakeholders to understand financial drivers and provide financial visibility to influence decision making and drive business results. In addition, this finance position will be responsible for analytical modeling essential for supporting strategic initiatives and achieving key cost savings and MUV metrics.
Perform financial planning and analysis (FPA) activities to support quarterly forecasts and annual planning (AOP) for annual cost savings and MUV (scrap, yield rates by product, etc) as well as manage/assist in managing certain balance sheet reserves.
Participates in monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, to ensure the integrity of financial results and appropriate management visibility
Complete monthly financial reporting, analyzing results, identifying issues, and explaining trends and variances to plan and forecast; providing insights to business partners and other stakeholders that helps draw connections between material usage and yield, as well as lead cost savings approval processes to drive action and business results.
Performs various financial analyses and assessments to proactively identify areas of risks and opportunities.
Actively engages with business partners to understand financial drivers and achieve key metrics.
Supports process development opportunities across the plant to bring efficiencies to processes and clarity to the analysis
Support various strategic cost down initiatives through financial modeling, ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and project management efforts to influence decision making and drive business results.
Consultant to various finance team members and a thought partner on complex business issues and analytical opportunities across the plant and functions that enable better decision making
Bring a mindset of continuous improvement to all aspects of the job, including recurring processes and stand-alone projects.
Support the Boulder plant Finance team in key projects and processes as needed, such as financial systems/data mgmt. improvements and automation, inventory revaluation, deferral period analysis, obsolescence processes, capex processes,
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Advanced Degree with 5+ years)
Nice to Have
BA/BS in Accounting, Business or Finance
MBA, CMA or CPA, or other financial certifications
Exceptional leadership and business partnering skills
Experience with SAP and Hyperion; proficient in Excel
Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Solid accounting foundation with demonstrated financial modeling experience
Ability to mine large amounts of data for insights and analytical recommendations
Experience leading process improvement projects (Green Belt+)
Strong communication, collaboration, presentation and interpersonal skills
