Google Senior Program Manager, User Insights in Boulder, Colorado

Minimum qualifications:

  • 7 years of work experience, with 3 years in a User Insights role, designing and utilizing various methods (including but not limited to usability studies, qualitative research, surveys, User Voice programs, user insights management).

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading strategic/ambiguous programs from inception to action.

  • Experience with user-centric research or analytic programs (User Studies, User Behavior, Targeted user research, managing research agencies, User Voice, analytics insights, data mining).

  • Experience connecting with and influencing senior stakeholders.

  • Experience collaborating with execution partners (e.g. research agencies, Analytics teams).

  • Excellent communication, analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.

gUP builds innovative solutions that take user experience and engagement with Google to the next level, supporting users across products, countries, cultures, incomes, and identities. We advocate for users through partnerships with product areas at Google (and some Alphabet businesses), supporting Google’s consumer products ecosystem and enabling numerous launches for Google’s consumer products each year.

The User team delivers user-centric support experiences to help Users get the most out of Google. Specifically, the role of the Strategic User Insights team is to help gUP better understand users expectations, preferences, and experiences with support.

As a Senior Program Manager for User Insights, you will be responsible for designing research, synthesizing insights and advocating for a better support experience across all our products. You will design, manage, and advocate for insights to help gUP prepare our solutions to future users and technologies. You will understand User and Business challenges and turn them into research projects. In this role, you'll work with teams of experts (UX, researchers, Analytics teams, agencies) to get the research done, then build compelling, user-centric narratives out of the research insights and advocate for improvements.

  • Connect cross-functionally with senior stakeholders to understand current and future business challenges and user obstacles.

  • Develop project strategy, including outlining research needs.

  • Coordinate day-to-day research management with experts (i.e. UX team, research agencies, data analyst) to ensure the delivery of timely and actionable insights.

  • Connect the dots between various insights, sources, and data points to create a cohesive understanding of challenges and solutions.

  • Socialize insights and advocate for change, including design and project management experiments/pilot strategies, roll out plans, measurement of impact, and communication planning.
