Reporting to the Global Marketing Director, this Sr. Global Product Manager is the point of interaction between Medtronic and the customer user experience with our Blood Oxygen Management Respiratory Compromise products. A successful candidate will ensure uninterrupted product availability, monitor financial performance, and helps identify solutions to support customer needs and business growth goals by leading and executing on effective plans and programs for the product platform, both strategic and tactical, to ensure we achieve market share gains and gross margin targets.

The Product Marketer will be expected to independently develop and implement solutions to a broad range of issues which will require a high degree of cross-functional interaction and leadership capability. To be successful in this role, the candidate will build successful partnerships with the regions, field sales forces and cross-functional partners to inform strategies and will be seen as a subject matter expert on products.

This position has a unique vantage point, collaborating across global functions and engaging with regional marketing teams, to ensure our Nellcor Microstream products are properly positioned, promoted, and meet customer needs. A Day in the Life

For the Nellcor Blood Oxygen Management Microstream Respiratory Compromise product families, this Sr. Global Product Manager will:

  • Be an expert in present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product idea and/or product improvements

  • Provide product roadmap guidance to drive appropriate product pipeline planning

  • Assess market competition by comparing our products to competitors. Provides recommendations for on-going product development to ensure our products remain competitive

  • Routinely communicate with the regional marketing field sales force regarding product updates, inventory availability, competitive activity, new product development updates, best practice sharing, etc.

  • Determine the profitability and viability of new products or product enhancements

  • Obtain product market share by working with regional marketing and sales field members to develop product sales strategies, messaging, segmentation and positioning

  • Formulate effective pricing strategies utilizing market research data, field intel, and internal product costs/volumes

  • Regularly analyze and report to senior leadership and cross-functional partners on market trends, financial performance, competitive information and its effect on product performance, etc.

  • Assist in the development of technical product collateral and sales material to support field sales and customers

  • Build further develop regional relationships; Support answering product questions and requests

  • Partner with sales leadership and sales training to ensure teams are properly trained and equipped to execute programs

  • Prepare short-term long-term product sales forecasts; support IBP process; Work cross-functionally with Operations, RD, Quality and Regulatory to ensure products remain saleable globally

  • Work closely with Logistics, Operations, and Regional Marketing to ensure smooth and timely end-of-life management for product obsolescence related to new product introductions or rationalization objectives

  • Partner with Product Monitoring to review quality trends and address top issues

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 7 years of marketing or salesexperience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Basic knowledge of the various business functions within a large organization, including Operations, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, Research Development and Marketing

  • Working understanding of financial documents- Income statements, expense budgeting, financial decision-making methods

  • Analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strategic agility and structured thinking, intellectual curiosity is a must. Ability to turn detailed data analyses into succinct, useful insight

  • Ability to achieve results by working cross-functionally and collaboratively across a matrix organization, including scoping and managing projects with cross-business unit teams

  • Self-starter, comfortable taking initiative and leading/project managing multiple projects at once

  • Strong written and oral communications

  • Strong project management skills and tangible experience achieving results
