Job Summary Database Administrator: Plans computerized databases, includingbase definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements,operational guidelines and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness ofdata in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries.Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates andmonitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance andreliability of the system. Note: May be internal or external,client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services andoutsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions. Job Requirements - Excellent oral and written communication skills; includingdocumentation.- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of other StorageSystems Administrators to support deadlines; ability to work independentlyas well.- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks, with tight deadlinesconcurrently.- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.- Demonstratedability to perform well in a dynamic environment, with on-time delivery.-Knowledge of:TCP/IP networkingNFSNISDNSUnix Account ManagementFilepermissions- 3 to 5 years of experience with Unix operating systems shellscripting.- Efficient user of Microsoft Office tools including Excel,Word, Outlook and Visio.- Ability to follow and adhere to policies,procedures and standards relating to Systems management.
