HR Services Systems Analyst Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Services Systems Analyst will help Vail Resorts to achieve our goal of developing and continually optimizing a scalable and efficient HR foundation through process design, solution building and deployment within our core HR technologies. The work will include partnering with HR Technology to solicit business requirements, recommend viable solutions, and lead user test efforts.

The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience supporting the intersection between business process and technology solutions. Experience with user testing and training will be key, ideally with experience in related third party platforms (PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors, ServiceNow and OnBase)

This position requires experience partnering with teams, defining cross-functional business processes, rationalizing technology requirements, and executing an aggressive agenda within a rapidly changing environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build relationships throughout Vail’s HR organization and the business to identify areas of opportunities and pain-points related to solution capabilities.

  • Analyze and document business practices and implement business process improvements using best practice techniques, including current and future state solution design and process optimization.

  • Understand and take in to account system functionality and interdependencies for given processes.

  • Work closely with HR Services leadership to create, analyze and validate detailed functional specifications for process and technology improvements.

  • Lead workshops to gather, analyze and document functional / technical requirements for new projects, enhancements to existing solutions and support production issues reported by end users.

  • Understand the project and document key change management issues as well as business process changes. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth change management.

  • Work with technical team members as necessary to provide functional support for technical implementations as well as to help deliver elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, or other detailed deliverables.

  • Help identify test scenarios related to business processes to ensure our understanding of the system as well as to ensure the system performs as expected.

  • Create/execute user acceptance test plans, including use cases and test data.

  • Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation.

  • Perform application and process-specific training activities to educate technical and non-technical users of the solutions you recommend and support.

  • Provide production support for core HR applications (PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors, ServiceNow and OnBase) including researching and resolving issues, unexpected results or process flaws.

  • Work with HR Services leadership to prioritize technology work, represent HR Services in technology release meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience deploying and supporting human resource technologies as an HRIS/Business Systems Analyst or hand's-on HR system project/production support; PeopleSoft and ServiceNow experience a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Is able to sort through issues, seek input from others and addresses the root cause of issues.

  • Functional knowledge of human resources business processes; Able to identify expressed and unspoken requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication and influence. Makes timely decisions, uses consensus when possible and communicates effectively to other team members and leadership.

  • Complete tasks in a timely manner, is punctual at work and in meetings. Shows consistent effort.

  • Handles pressure well, adjusts plans to meet change needs and acts on opportunities.

  • Hand's-on experience in designing and executing test plans and test cases to ensure flawless implementations.

  • Experience executing within cross-functional teams.

  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills - able to analyze large datasets, extract insights and proactively communicate those insights.

  • Able to build relationships at all levels in the organization.

  • Relentless about following up until the job is done.

  • Extensive experience working with Excel is required, SQL is a plus.
