This director position is responsible for managing business operations and resources of a given project portfolio which can be defined by industry, service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Responsibilities include people management, project oversight, and sales enablement. Accountable for fulfilling business goals, meeting budgets, maintaining project/portfolio profitability while ensuring quality of project delivery and maintaining customer referenceability.
Develops strategy and plans to successfully implement operational policies and achieve portfolio performance in support of strategic objectives. Responsible for solutions and pricing of proposals and supporting the sales process. Is accountable for managing a significant and profitable revenue stream. Typically manages multiple project/program managers and/or senior level individual contributors. May serve as advisor or project sponsor role for moderately complex engagements.
10 years of experience relevant to this position, including 2 years of project or direct line management experience. Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles and successfully manage projects of increasing complexity. Comfortable working in a matrix management environment. Strong influencing and negotiation skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Selling skills preferred. Ability to travel as needed.
This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Our Consulting | Professional Services Consulting team has an opening for a fully competent Portfolio Director who has a broad understanding of solutions and industry best practices in utilities. This Portfolio Director position provides consistent creative and high quality internal and client-facing leadership. Employs independent judgment in guiding highly complex activities involved in the successful implementation and operation of an integrated business solution, ensuring portfolio quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer’s satisfaction. Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and systems integration expertise. Effectively applies Oracle’s methodologies, policies, and procedures while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle’s risk and exposure.
As a Portfolio Director, you will play a lead role in oversight of a portfolio of large, complex systems integration projects, including their financial performance, project health, identification and resolution of issues and risks and successful delivery. You will provide executive level leadership as the project sponsor for assigned accounts. Effectively influences decisions at the executive and management levels of customer organizations. Independently resolves escalations and manages across multiple client projects. Manages a team of project managers and provides oversight and strategic guidance to service delivery, including mentoring and coaching as well as performance management and employee development. Ability to travel as required up to 50%.
10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of complex software systems integration project management experience with budgets in excess of $10M.
5 year consulting experience in a professional services organization
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Proven ability to deliver successful project outcomes
Experience with Oracle Utilities product implementations highly desired or competing utility operations systems.
Utilities industry domain experience is required.
Experience managing complex dependencies, risks and issues across multiple projects, client organizations and third parties.
Exceptional client management and escalation management skills.
Experience developing cost estimates for Professional Services efforts, as well as presenting value propositions
Must have managed Project Budgets in excess of $10 Million Dollars
Agile Methodology experience preferred
Experience creating and presenting proposals and SOWs for new and existing customers
Excellent customer relationship acumen, including comfort interacting at the “C” level
Experience successfully delivering presentations
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills
Consulting and project management experience in a SaaS environment is a plus
