The Role

This position is responsible for managing application development/support teams within the Enterprise BSS organization. Accountable to deliver comprehensive support and quality development projects for multiple applications. This role is both management and hands-on requiring the best candidate to bring deep technical and software expertise, strong business acumen, ability to define visionary, groundbreaking products, ability to lead diverse teams, desire to have an industry-wide impact, and ability to work within a fast-moving environment in a large company to rapidly deliver support and services that have a broad business impact.

This manager will be responsible for multiple teams developing API, AI/ML, and microservices solutions supporting vertical and horizontal task and order visibility, capability-based routing of work, and predictive fallout management. This role will work with business partners to create/update/replace current solutions and new solutions that integrate with the target state API and KAFKA Layer and to ensure solutions are compatible with all lines of business and digital interaction strategies.

This role is critical to the future state of our Enterprise Business.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Architecting systems for big data and hyper scale

  • Remain abreast of industry software technology, software development and support techniques.

  • Implement AI/ML and big data in multiple systems

  • Ensure the best solution is designed and implemented on time and with quality for each software release within the Agile Safe Framework

  • Enable 24/7 Production support

  • Manage a team of developers onshore and offshore

  • Manage the development activities and deliverables on time with client satisfaction in an international working environment with matrix resources in different locations and time zones

  • Lead developer candidate interviews and hiring decisions for both full time employees and contractors

  • Assist employees in building and managing their development plans.

  • Employee performance reviews.

  • Provide for the timely and accurate resolution of business partner service requests, prompt replies to business partner or management inquiries, and regular feedback regarding application status opportunities, and problems.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years managing development teams and managers

  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software development

  • Experience with Java, KAFKA, Kubernetes and non-relational database

  • Experience leading teams designing and delivering systems level software

  • Track record of fast learning and adaption to the new technology and environment

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field

  • Leadership of business system application development team(s)
