Ball Aerospace Sr. Director of Program Operations
What You’ll Do
Reports to the VP, Finance for Ball Aerospace.
Overall responsibility to ensure program execution effectiveness through capture and sharing of best practices in Contract Management, Project Controls and the Program Support Office (PSO).
Cultivates a high-functioning team with members that are invested in each other’s success.
Builds synergies and communication across the Contracts, Project Controls and PSO functions.
Ensures strategic direction for Contract management, Project Controls and Program Support Office (PSO) in concert with SBU and Company Strategic plans.
Overall responsibility for Earned Value Business System compliance, audit support, and resolution of system deficiencies.
Implements guidance developed in conjunction with the team required to attain successful system audits minimizing deficiencies and weaknesses including preparation of extensive documentation of policies, processes & systems flows as well as communication and training of affected people.
Responsible for bringing innovative solutions to streamline processes, tools and policies to enhance program execution.
Responsible for the oversight of tools and processes supporting the Contracts, Project Controls and PSO functions. Develops and maintains a strategic roadmap for tool upgrades and is the primary liaison with ITS to ensure compliance of the tools utilized by those functions including; Contracts Database, BART, Program Status Tracker, Lifecycle Gated Milestones and MS Project.
Responsible for identifying opportunities to streamline processes and procedures to ensure the most effective utilization of resources within Contracts, Project Controls and PSO. Strong focus on design and execution of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure continued compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and ISO AS9100 regulations.
Provides strategic direction for employee hiring, development, mentoring and training.
Oversees audit activities between the applicable DCMA/DCAA auditors, PwC and Internal Audit. Reviews and oversees written responses to audit findings in conjunction with Government Compliance functions.
Supports the Finance organization providing guidance and strategic insight on where changes to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards are impacting the business.
Develops appropriate practices that balance business risk and compliance to federal regulations. Will require coordination with appropriate internal functions.
Serves as Ball Aerospace representative at certain Industry conferences and sub-committees, such as Aerospace Industry Association (AIA), National Contract Management Association (NCMA), etc.
Responsible for driving Economic Value Added (EVA) through profit negotiations, cost/cash management and optimal resource allocation.
Responsible for establishing key metrics to ensure the organization is operating at the optimum level and coordinating with the VP of Finance for opportunities for improvement.
Maintains a regular and predictable work schedule
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships within the department, the SBU/SSU and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Performs other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need
BS/BA in a related field plus 15 or more years related experience.
Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Advanced degree preferred.
Fifteen or more years of experience in a government contracting environment with a strong understanding of the Aerospace business preferred.
Financial/Contract Management program experience preferred
Earned Value Management (EVM) experience required.
Extensive knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) cost principles and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
Experience with DFARS Business Systems, particularly the Estimating and Earned Value Business System.
Sound Business judgement and the ability to address the interests of multiple stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable solutions to identified issues
Very strong organizational skills.

Strong leadership, people and team-building skills.
Strong financial and business management skills.
Experience developing management responses to audit findings and following through on corrective action plans.
Security Clearance preferred.
Work is performed in an office environment.
Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
Future Clearance Required:
A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
