Defense Information Systems Agency TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in Cheyenne Mountain AFB, Colorado
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-SERVICES DIRECTORATE (SELN3).
Functions as the Defense Information Systems Agency Command Center (DCC) Telecommunications Specialist, NetOps Incident Management technical authority.
Provides 24/7 on-demand support for DCC Network Operations (NetOps).
Provides DCC Commander situational awareness of the Defense Information Services Network (DISN) architecture in global and GIG.
Provides specific Incident Response support to the DISA which include Incident Reports, CND Communications, and GIG CND situation awareness.
Directly advises DCC Commander on how best to employ DISN assets in the accomplishment of the mission.
Assesses the health of the overall network operations and provides regular reports to the DCC Commander.
Assesses customer's satisfaction with DCC's management of the DISN communications systems of the GIG, and as directed.
Serves as telecommunications data networks technical expert, advisor, trainer, and liaison officer for GIG/DISN systems.
Assists the DISA DCC in their day-to-day operations and problem resolution of the communications and networks that makeup the DISN.
Manages operational work schedules.
Tracks work efforts and controls the dispatching of a field technical engineer to perform maintenance and repair on authorized DCC equipment within the global theater.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as experience in planning, programming, analyzing, and solving network operations; which include voice, video, and data. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
