As an astrodynamics intern, you'll be supporting teams that aredeveloping innovative new missions and capabilities to ensure the U.S. candefend, fight, and win in the space domain.The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Astrodynamics Analyst Graduate Internfor an internship opportunity locatedinColorado Springs, CO OR El Segundo, CA.The qualified candidate will provide mission design and astrodynamicsanalytical support to government customers as they transform current missionsand invent new capabilities. Emphasis will be in the areas of space domainawareness (SDA), space traffic management (STM), space debris,and constellation coverage and orbit analysis. Customers include HQ U.S. SpaceForce, the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), the Space Securityand Defense Program (SSDP),and others.KEY FUNCTIONSWork closely with Aerospace technical staff to develop and mature analysissoftware tools that are used to conduct a range of modeling, simulation,and analysis in areas such as space mission design, constellation design,orbital maneuvers, orbit estimation, space debris, and space domain awareness.Interact directly with local Aerospace personnel and collaborate withAerospace personnel in other locations.Conduct analyses of system performance and architecture alternatives.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSCurrently enrolled full-time in an accredited program/university pursuing aMaster's, or Ph.D. in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or relateddiscipline with an expected degree competion after Summer 2021.Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Officeapplications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)Proficiency with one or more of the following programming languages/tools:Python, Matlab, C, C++, FortranThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a securityclearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
