The Boeing Company Associate Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado
The Space Warfighter Programs Team in the Virtual Warfare Center has a need for a creative and highly-motivated systems engineer who is interested in developing a virtual simulation environment and operating the environment in support of customer Advanced Training events.
The position involves the development of models and software simulation. The position requires an understanding of real-time simulation and an ability to perform programming tasks to represent particular customer-accepted models in an Operator-in-the-Loop (OITL) virtual simulation. The applicant will be required to work with a distributed team of software and systems engineers to execute the development of scenarios, integration, testing and run events. The candidate will be working with United State Government (USG) government customers.
Travel to other VWC sites will be necessary, up to 25%.
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Minimum technical Bachelor's
Knowledge of mission level analysis tools, such as STK, AFSIM or other simulation tools or computer programming, is required
Ability to work both independently without direct supervision, and also with a distributed team to develop end products
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Excellent oral and written communication skills are desired
Experience with spacecraft design, spacecraft operations, high-fidelity spacecraft simulations and space situational awareness is a plus
Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Colorado summary pay range: Min: $62,500 –Max: $104,000
