Northrop Grumman C2BMC Sr. Principal Engineer Systems – Interface Engineer (19-051) in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United States. Missile Defense and Protective Systems (MDPS) serves as Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination.
We are seeking highly qualified candidates for a systems engineer to work C2BMC interfaces to the Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) and Homeland Defense Radar Hawaii (HDR-H) sensors. This position will be responsible for conducting interface definition and revision to incorporate new system capabilities and spiral development changes that affect the C2BMC to Sensor interface. In addition, this position provides Subject Matter Expert support related to the Sensor Interface. The successful candidate will:
Attend interface working group meetings with MDA customer and representatives of the sensor engineering organization as well as support to program integration and test related efforts for the responsible sensor interface
Be assigned requirements engineering, use case development, and logical architecture modeling tasks as SE department tasking dictates
Support spiral leadership to assure interface artifacts and system assessment tasks required for the assigned sensor interface are completed when required
Function as part of an experienced team in developing systems engineering products and artifacts while adhering to the program Architecture and Systems Engineering Management Plan (ASEMP) and other processes.
Some travel will be required.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited institution with 9 or more years of professional experience
Active Secret clearance required to start
Experience performing pre-PDR systems engineering for DoD Information Systems
Demonstrated Systems Engineering skills in Interface Development and Interface Control Document (ICD) creation or maintenance
Master's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited institution with 7 or more years of professional experience.
Missile Defense Agency (MDA) sensor domain experience a plus
Specific interface experience with the MDA elements or sensors is a significant plus
Experience with team leadership, task tracking, and issue resolution coordination is a significant plus
Desired skills include: requirements engineering, use case development, logical architecture modeling, MBSE, SysML, BMDS domain experience, RMF-based cyber security , and project planning utilizing MS Project, DOORS tool, and Earned Value Management techniques and tools
