The Boeing Company Experienced Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado
The Space Superiority analysis team is looking for an Experienced Systems Engineer to join the team in Colorado Springs, CO or Seal Beach, CA .
The Space Superiority analysis team in the Virtual Warfare Center has a need for a creative and highly-motivated systems engineer who is interested in working difficult problems at the front end of the business. The Space Superiority team is responsible for producing constructive and virtual analysis for future space control concepts, capabilities and architectures. The engineer will deliver customer focused constructive analysis and modeling and simulation to address a variety of capability gaps within the Space Superiority mission area.
Support the development of modeling and simulation (M&S) and scenarios for the space control mission area.
Work with United State Government (USG) government customers, Boeing leadership and software engineers to translate high level customer requirements into specific work packages and detailed hardware and software requirements for operator-in-the-loop (OITL) simulations.
Oversee execution of the effort to include development, testing, analysis, implementation and schedule.
Derive observations from the analysis to inform BDS investments and drive Phantom Works capture strategy.
Engage with internal and external customers, and is expected to present findings from analysis to those customers.
Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Ability to work both independently without direct supervision, and also with a distributed team to develop end products
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Travel to other VWC sites will be necessary, up to 25%.
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) The candidate must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance post hiring.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Possess a Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study).
Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and/or modeling and simulation
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Knowledge of mission level analysis tools, such as STK, AFSIM or other simulation tools or computer programming
Experience with spacecraft design, spacecraft operations, high-fidelity spacecraft simulations and space situational awareness is a plus
Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
