LinQuest GBS Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

DescriptionLinQuest is seeking a GBS Systems Engineer to join our team at Peterson AirForce Base, CO.We are looking for an innovative, creative, and highly motivatedindividual to support a MILSATCOM Program Office managing a diverse set ofstrategic and tactical MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure. The candidatewill specifically support the MILSATCOM Sustainment Global Broadcast Service(GBS) Program Office with the system engineering development, andtesting for the new GBS TRANSEC modem, and continued system integrationengineering and testing through operational testing and trial period. Theposition requires the candidate to provide a reliable GBS subject matterexpert to support the GBS Program Office in identifying GBS sustainment issuesand solutions pertaining to equipment obsolescence or changing operationalenvironments. Support the GBS Program Manager (PM) with programreporting, internal/external meeting support, authoring and updatingtechnical program documentation, requirements management, systemarchitecture and integration, and test and evaluation. Duties will includeintegration of new hardware/software, systems engineering,communications troubleshooting, evaluating/assessing system modificationsfor shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessmentswith regards to modifications prior to fielding. Author and deliver technicaldocumentation including engineering studies, technical white papers, andapplicResponsibilities:Leads technical discussions - systems engineering, systems architecture,data transmission, troubleshooting, test and evaluation, logistics,fielding transition, cybersecurity working groups, etcSupport cross-program meetings - e.g. Wideband Working Group, DISATeleport/Gateway meetings, DoD Information Network meetings, etcAuthor and deliver technical documentation including engineering studies,technical white papers, technical procedures, technical requirements,project implementation plans, test plans, and test procedures and test reportsReview production/sustainment CDRL's and recommend approval/disapprovalon a basis of technical evaluationSupport, draft, and/or maintain key technical products/documents -system engineering plan, cybersecurity strategy, authority to operatepackage, plan of action and milestonesSupport, draft, and/or maintain program planning products/documents -integrated master schedule, life cycle sustainment plan, product supportbusiness case analysis, white papers, decision briefings, materialfielding plan, systems engineering plan, information support planSupport development of requirement documents - system requirements document(SRD), technical requirements document (TRD), operationrequirements document (ORD), concept of operations (CONOPS), etcProvide engineering analysis related to system architecture changes due tocurrent/future policy, industry standards, obsolescence, interfacechanges, AF 1067's performance improvements and system modification, etcSupport and provide demonstrations related to internal GBS products orexternal interfacesSupport technical aspects of the receive suite (transportable andportable) production and sustainmentSupport, coordinate, manage and provide test engineering expertise toDT/IT/OT - review test plans, test procedures, test data analysis,deficiency reports, etcTravel: approximately 15%Required Skills:Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computerscience, or equivalent technical disciplineKnowledge of DoD mission system sustainmentExcellent oral and written communication skillsPreferred Skills:Specific experience operating or maintaining GBS Receive Suites, relatedinfrastructure and/or support equipmentRadio frequency engineering or network engineering experienceMust be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-joblearning/improvementRequired Experience:5+ years of experience with DoD/USAF systems engineering5+ years of experience with MILSATCOM experience10+ years of experience working with military
