The City of Colorado Springs is seeking an intern for the Transit Division in Public Works.

Normal work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some weekend hours. Hours will be flexible and approximately 20-30 hours per week.

Duties may include, but are not be limited to assisting with the following:

  • Assist with triennial audit preparation
  • Gather documents, update plans, policies, and procedures, and manuals
  • Ensure compliance with FTA guidelines and regulations Examples of knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to manage duties with a high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple projects; work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Dependable and detail-oriented

Competency

  • An interest in the City of Colorado Springs and its long-term physical development, existing and future communities, and connectivity to the greater Pikes Peak region
  • Technical writing skills and the ability to document solutions, support materials, and instructions
  • Basic Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) skills

Relevant Background and Formal Education

The selected individual must be a junior/senior undergraduate or graduate student in good standing working towards a degree within an accredited program in computer science, business information management, business administration, or a related field of study.
