MEI Technologies, Inc IRES - Network Analyst (AS0003S2/AS0003S3) in Colorado Springs, Colorado


Network Engineer to support the 24x7x365 Network Operations Team on the IRES program. Position is located at Schriever AFB, CO. Position is Shift Work (Swing/Mid or as required by OPTEMPO).


  • Will monitor the MDA Enterprise Network using HPOV NNMi and other provided tools

  • Will respond to Remedy Incident Tickets

  • Will work with end customers to resolve network communications issues

  • Will work with DISA and DREN to report and resolve network circuit issues

  • Direct access to local LAN and WAN equipment to assist troubleshooting network connectivity issues (Cisco command line)

  • Layer 1 cable troubleshooting and replacement, layer 2 port activations

  • Other duties as assigned



  • Candidate must have a Secret DoD security clearance with the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.

  • High School Diploma plus 12 years of general experience or an Associate’s degree and 10 years general experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years general experience; must have a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.

  • Candidates must have completed and be enrolled in Continuing Education (CE) with a Security+ certification.

  • Must be familiar with HP Openview, NetScout, networking (LAN/WAN) and basic troubleshooting network anomalies (command line access to network devices).

  • Familiarity with Remedy Action Request System.

  • Must have an understanding of COMSEC.

  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

  • Must have the ability to work shifts.

  • Candidate must be proficient in developing comprehensive and detailed drawings, using Microsoft Visio, to document end-to-end circuit path for maintaining both Wide-Area networks (WANs) and Local-Area networks (LANs).

  • Candidate must have DoD 8570 Certification.


  • Cisco CCNA Certification. Must be able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have good communication skills.

  • Must be able to work well in a team environment, have good interpersonal skills, be a quick learner and have a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Must be able to follow documented processes/procedures and provide feedback to update as necessary.

  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

  • Experience with Cisco routers/switches, and Network firewalls and KVM switches.

  • Experience with TCP/IP, UDP Multicast, OSPF, and various WAN network mediums, legacy network systems such as SONET, LightWave ATM and TDM multiplexer network timing systems.

  • Experience in supporting environments for an "operational network", to include tech-control environments, crypto maintenance, COMSEC, or systems administration.

  • Proficient working with DISA, local and long-haul circuit vendors.

  • Strong technical and hands-on experience in all of the following: various protocols for data transmission (RS-232, RS-530, T1, T3, ESF, D4, B8ZS, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, OC-192), OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) 7-layer model and the various facets of data transmission between any two points in a network. DSX equipment panels and associated wiring Fiber optics cabling, connectors and termination techniques, metallic cabling, connectors and termination techniques.
