Description:Model Based Systems Engineer provides modeling andengineering support to the MDA for Ballistic MissileDefense System (BMDS) development as part of enterprisearchitecture. Specific functions include: This position provides Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) support to enhance the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) enterprise architecture. The MBSE modeler works with MDA engineers to capture system behavior and structure, and to explore potential improvements to the system. The position participates in the development of a system-of-systems architecture model, ensuring M&S requirements drive an integrated (System-level) M&S capability. Demonstrated systems engineering experience with M&S systems and their uses Analyses could be performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies Support analysis of BMD governance documents for periodic updatesRequirements:Requirements: Active Secret security clearance Degree in engineering, or related technical field MBSE certifications (e.g. OMG, INCOSE) Practical experience with MBSE (SysML) (not just UML) Experience with MBSE tools (eg EA Sparx, IBM Rhapsody, Magic Draw) integrated with requirements management tools (eg DOORs) and CM tools (eg SVN, Clearcase) Prior experience supporting development of technical publications Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a group Ability to effectively participate and collaborate with functionally and geographically diverse teams of engineering professionals with differing perspectives, skills, and backgrounds Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders and non-MBSE trained people, both in written and spoken forms Ability to provide significant contribution in the areas of creative thinking, problem solving, analytical thinking, strategic thinking and out-of-the-box thinking Energetic, motivated, self-startingDesired Capabilities/Experience Understanding of the BMD system implementation Previous experience in any of the BMD subcomponents activities Experience working with systems-of-systems or family-of-systems, preferably in a DoD context Experience in the use and analysis of M&S data for complex systems, preferable for the BMDS Ability to lead functionally and geographically dispersed teams of engineering professionals with differing perspectives, skills, and backgroundsEmployer's Job# 1560Please visit job URL for more information about this opening and to view EOEstatement.
