N256 provides applied systems engineering/mission engineering for 3 Combatant Commands (CCMDs), to include HQ NORAD/USNORTHCOM. North American Aerospace Defense Command conducts aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning in the defense of North America. USNORTHCOM’s mission is to conduct homeland defense of the United States, conduct defense support to civil authorities (DSCA) missions, and to conduct security cooperation to defend and secure the United States and its interests. N256 provides technical expertise with communications/network modernization, data analytics for Joint All Domain C2 (JADC2), operations research and analysis related to resilient critical infrastructure, senior leader communications, and Arctic Communications/Experimentation expertise for the command, and in support of the Joint Force and Service Components.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Provide systems engineering knowledge, homeland defense domain expertise, familiarity with intelligence community capabilities and processes, familiarity of NORAD/USNORTHCOM operations and Command roles & responsibilities for the HQ leadership, particularly the J3 & J8.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS and 8 years related experience

  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.

Required Qualifications:

  • Applied architecture development and analysis experience in support of decision makers

  • Major Command (MAJCOM) or Combatant Command Operations Center experience, command and control experience, or warfighter support experience

  • Operational Air Defense (AD) Experience

  • Demonstrable real-world understanding of AD Operations (Airborne, Sea- or Ground-based)

  • Demonstrable experience with IAMD programs or projects

  • Understanding of Kill Chain / Kill Web concepts

  • Understanding of Advanced Battle Management concepts

  • Engineering, Ops Research, or Technical Bachelor’s Degree

  • Ability to work comfortably with all levels of government and military up to Flag Officer/SES

  • Comfortable briefing large, multidisciplinary groups

  • Energetic attitude

  • Working knowledge, technical experience with Service/Joint space systems, processes, primary space C2 and Sensor programs

  • Experience with requirements documentation and program/mission gap analysis

  • Possess an active TS/SCI level security clearance

  • Special Access Program experience, integration with white world systems and processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline

  • Leadership roles in IAMD programs

  • Aerospace-related Master’s Degree

  • Systems Engineering or Integration experience

  • Advanced Battle Management System experience

  • C-UAS experience

  • Understanding of Integrated Fire Control concepts and technical challenges

  • NORAD, NATO, or other Coalition operational experience

  • Understanding of operational space support

  • Understanding of threats and possible responses for national critical infrastructure
