The successfulcandidate will work with the design team and be the authority for assignedprojects. The Project Engineer supports the development and maintenance of thetechnical plan from project kick-off through closure of the contract.Responsible for tracking execution of technical scope as defined by the designauthority, with a focus of maintaining cost and schedule goals. Facilitatescoordination of cross-functional engineering teams for internal engineeringactivities.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Supports program management and design team with development of programplanning strategies, technical cost estimates, risk management,logistics management, preparation of data, status updates and preparationof presentations for internal/external customer reviews.Leads a cross functional design team to develop a design and systemarchitecture to meet the customer requirements for high technology hardwareand software for satellite, telecommunications, and space related products.Provides Inputs for estimates to complete, reviews schedules, andcoordinates with integrated product team (IPT) leads and programmanagement office, as applicable.Deciphers technical contractual requirements and allocates them to theappropriate engineering teams.Manages and addresses the technical Supplier Data Requirements List (SDRL)and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items and other applicablecontract deliverables.Manages planning and work packages: initiate, create, authorize,review, distribute, status work package.Assesses project technical risks and provides mitigation plans.Coordinates the review, presentation and release of design documentation tosupport requirements compliance, including Technical Interchange Meetings,Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews.Coordinates with the Program Manager (PM), design team and functionalmanagement to communicate program impediments or issues / delays incompleting tasks.Manages requirement traceability through verification, using tools such as aRequirements Verification Matrix.Keyword: project engineer, IPT, SDLR, CDLR, Open Space, DoD,Agile, SCRUM, satelliteRequired Experience:Required ExperienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Basic project management and engineering skills including resource estimatesfor engineering effort requirements (hours) and timing (schedule)Working knowledge with MS Office products, including MS Project for scheduledevelopment and reviewDemonstrated leadership and vision in managing tasks and resources formultiple projectsStrong understanding and experience with engineering fundamentals, bestpractices, development and design toolsExperienced in *Open Space* software development and productsExperienced and knowledgeable with DoD, satellite, and telecommunicationtype programsKnowledgeable in best industry practices, standards, tools, and technologiesGood communication
