Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance actions of SATCOM systems including: communications, networking, antenna, power, timing, signal distribution, trucks, trailers, environmental control, and support equipment in the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) locations.
Provide on-site Subject Matter Expertise (SME) during daily operations, system upgrades, and preventive maintenance of SATCOM systems
Apply advance technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational and technical deficiencies with the SATCOM system
Use a wide range of test instruments and equipment to functionally test, restore, or improve performance of SATCOM systems
Document and report system status and fix actions
Participate in training exercises and system deployments in CONUS or OCONUS locations
Implement and ensure adherence to operations, maintenance and organizational procedures and policies
Author, update, review, and recommend changes to operations and maintenance material as required
Account for and ensure positive control of critical resources
Install and integrate hardware on SATCOM systems
Conduct site surveys in support of CONUS or OCONUS exercises and deployments
Assist in the planning, preparation, mission engineering of all SATCOM equipment prior to CONUS or OCONUS operations
Provide telephonic support as required to help isolate and resolve difficult issues
Provide formal and informal training to operators and instructors
Assist in workplace and personnel safety by identifying risks, mitigating risks and intervenes to prevent mishaps
The work will be performed in Colorado Springs and various OCONUS locations lasting up to 6 months a year, in various locations
Domestic and international travel up to 50%
An active Top-Secret security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
SATCOM or Wireless/RF Communications Systems experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
Military experience or working in a military environment desired
Experience with system and/or subsystem integration
Familiarity with computer networks
Practical knowledge of Project Management
Able to recommend enhancements to systems and processes
Ability to adhere to a policy, procedures, standard work document, or well-established techniques to determine course of action
