As a member of our Space Division team, you will help solve our nation's most technically challenging problems and work in the public interest building a more capable and resilient space enterprise. This work will be conducted collaboratively with multiple MITRE and government organizations. You will fill the demanding role as the MITRE Senior Advisor and a key technical advisor to the SMC Development Corp (SMC/DC) and Enterprise Corp (SMC/EC).

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a MITRE Senior Advisor to the SMC Development Corp (SMC/DC) and Enterprise Corp (SMC/EC)

  • Provide thought leadership for all SMC Development Corp (SMC/DC) and Enterprise Corp support (SMC/EC) and advise on long term workshaping activities

  • Provide DoD Acquisition knowledge, Agile Systems Engineering knowledge, missile warning expertise, and familiarity with intelligence community capabilities and processes to MITRE DC Team

  • Support activities to grow MITRE talent pool for SMC support, across MITRE and especially in El Segundo, CA

  • Advise MITRE DC PL on diverse and technically challenging tasks related to the sponsor’s objectives.

  • Collaborate with the MITRE team on key MITRE product deliveries to support SMC/DC and SMC/EC efforts

  • Collaborate with the N114 DevCorp Project Lead to peer-review MITRE product delivery

  • Support development of MITRE SMC/DC Strategy in alignment with MITRE Space Warfighting Strategy

Basic Qualifications:

  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.

  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering, or BS in Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, and over 10 years of experience with minimum of 2 yrs in a leadership position

  • BS degree with Computer Science (or related field) minor and/or relevant Computer Science/Engineering coursework

Required Qualifications :

  • Exceptional communication skills; Team player

  • Mission Focus area: Missile Warning, Space Superiority, Space Control

  • Understanding of modern missile threats, Space Threats

  • Software Engineering

  • Systems Architecture

  • DoD Acquisition

  • Agile SW Engineering, Management, and Acquisition

  • Minimum Clearance level: Collateral Secret

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-team leadership skills

  • Cross Government Leadership skills

  • FFRDC Role knowledge

  • Understanding of NSS (National Security Space) systems

  • Additional clearances: TS/SCI

  • Space Sensors expertise: Missile warning and Space Domain Awareness

  • Systems of Systems Engineering
