We are currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to establish and lead a dedicated systems engineering team within our engineering R&D organization! This role will lead the cross-functional collaboration that converts product concepts into architectures and specifications then through the systems lifecycle ‘V’ model. You will also use your technical skills to fully understand the multitude of standards products are designed to, as well as use your organizational skills to ensure validation methods are aligned and documented. The position is in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO within a bicycle ride of Rampart Range and Garden of the Gods park.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product management to clearly define and specify product requirements.
Collaborate with architects, safety & compliance specialists, and test engineering to execute the systems ‘V’ on NPD and sustaining projects.
Advise senior management on the continued evolution of the systems team resources, tools, and procedures.
Work with lab test team to verify test results are recorded and documented appropriately
Review, document, and validate agency requirements for each product to ensure that they meet all standards
Be a transformation leader within the team and share ideas on process improvement
Qualifications:
5+ years as a systems engineer managing the systems lifecycle and authoring specifications
Strong technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with DFMEA, SHA, and risk analysis in safety-critical products
Proactive and highly self-motivated; demonstrates critical thinking capabilities with strong attention to detail
Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change; remains flexible and calm when facing of uncertainty
Interpersonal skills to work with several departments, including product management, engineering, and quality teams
Experience with one or more requirements management tool suites
Ability to travel internationally
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. without restrictions
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in an electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering (or related field) required
MS is preferred
