We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to help deliver on this mission.

Job Role and Responsibility:

  • Building tools that enable self-service utilization of VMware’s infrastructure.

  • Building distributed server-side systems and developer tooling.

  • Listening to users in order to make complex technologies usable.

  • Participating as part of a 24/7 on-call rotation

  • Collaborating with other highly distributed engineering teams

Preferred Skills:

  • You have been responsible for hosted services and recognize the challenges, complexities and tradeoffs to be made when building and deploying new systems to production.

  • You have implemented automation for the deployment, monitoring and observability of production services.

  • You can collaborate on a team to build, review and help design high quality code.

  • You've demonstrated the ability to effectively work independently.

  • You are thoughtful about user experience, especially for other engineers.

  • You have operational experience with containers technologies.

  • You are currently responsible for Kubernetes clusters in production.

  • You have experience at multiple parts of the stack to better understand our customers.

  • You have participated in and/or conducted blameless retrospectives and followed through on action items to improve the infrastructure for your applications and services.

  • You’ve succeeded in a remote work environment
