The Boeing Company Sr. Systems Engineer - Systems Architecture (6) in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Overview:

  • The National Team provides systems engineering solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) for the development and evolution of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).

  • The BMDS is an integrated, layered architecture that provides multiple opportunities to destroy missiles and their warheads before they can reach their targets.

  • The National Team performs systems analyses of the existing BMDS architecture in conjunction with new technologies and concepts to be considered for future BMDS architectures.

  • The National Team performs analyses using various fidelity models and simulations to predict performance of current and future sensors, weapons, countermeasures, and counter-countermeasures.

  • In addition, we evaluate various scenarios and architectures to optimize overall system performance in a framework giving insight into performance improvements that may be employed by MDA.

  • The National Team works closely with the MDA, FFRDCs, along with various contractors and suppliers to bring about conceptual improvements, models & simulations to help define system improvements, new requirements, and perform architecture trade studies to help assess performance benefits of future systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The individual will be responsible for execution of engineering trade studies, discrimination system architecture evaluation, and analysis of current and future BMDS advanced RF radar concepts and architectures using existing modeling and simulation (M&S) tools or M&S tools created or modified by team members.

  • Responsibility includes leading a small team assessing potential solutions to a spectrum of countermeasures, threat modeling, leveraging radar sensor architectures concepts, applying advanced discrimination techniques and ingenuity to develop new/different approaches to solving complex physics problems and developing initial requirements.
    Occasional travel is required.

This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control board.
