Description of Job
The Active Directory & Messaging work unit is responsible for providing directory services for the State of Colorado executive branch agencies by providing infrastructure and architecture of the Directory Services environment to include administration activities, methods, procedures and tools that pertain to the operations, administration, maintenance and provisioning of Active Directory and other directory services (LDAP, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, Ping Directory, etc).
Responsibilities include architectural design, documentation, installation, monitoring, end-to-end troubleshooting, maintenance and procedures for directory services as well as evaluating potential enhancements, analyzing user requirements and developing solutions for directory services integrations.
This unit is also responsible for the email platforms including G Suite to include mail routing, distributed SMTP relays, security both inbound and outbound, failover, archiving, threat detection (spam, virus, phishing) data loss prevention and electronic discovery.
Active Directory and Messaging is involved in protecting data assets and implementing processes and procurement standards to run business intelligently. The team is involved in Audit and Regulatory Compliance.
Some of the day to day duties:
Customer Service, Tier II-III support and Ticket Management; works to ensure continuous improvement of processes
Operational support, service delivery and product management for email services. Will recommend and drive the enhancement processes and work with vendor partners.
Provide engagement in projects, collaborates with leadership and staff to develop secure solutions and options; assists with driving strategies forward; ensures adherence to approved methodologies; manages demand and capacity for successful workload management.
Delivers necessary metrics that measure various aspects of email services and security compliance.
Participates in design review working directly with customers and business owners on the integration requirements for G Suite, Directory Services and other cloud services.
Oversee maintenance of system configurations, process design documentation, operating procedures and process documentation.
Champions organizational change; encourages participation in activities that support relationship development; champions information security innovation; encourages and enforces proper training in regards to security issues.
Accountable for meeting goals and performance development.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment, to include Business, Computer Science, or a related technology.
One year of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position, to include experience in a professional, enterprise-level Identity & Access Management environment.
Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Training or certification relevant to the position will be considered for experience and/or education substitution.
Successful candidates for this position should possess the following skills/experience:
Four (4) years of experience in email platforms, message security, and operational support in a large multi-tenant environment.
Federation technologies (SAML, WS-Federation, OAUTH, etc).
Knowledge across a broad range of directory services for Cloud, Workforce, Consumer, and Digital.
Experience implementing and/or managing products and operations for a Multi-Factor Authentication, Single Sign-On, Cloud Security and Data Loss Prevention.
Experience managing user life cycle processes in a shared services framework with focus on Compliance, Governance, Password Management, Role Based Access Control, Least Privilege, Self Service/Self Registration.
Working familiarity of the following: Cyber security regulations and compliance, access review, audit and remediation.
