Denver Health Application Developer, Managed Care in Denver, Colorado

Job Summary As a member of the Information Systems team, this resource is responsible for technical support to the health plans many systems and interfaces. This position will have both productions support and project responsibilities by applying a wide range of technical skills. The systems supported will include multiple vendor hosted applications, interfaces between those systems and development in an internal data warehouse. The role will include a combination of technical problem-solving and enhancement of current solutions and development of new solutions through an analytical approach. The role will also include partnering with business owners throughout the organization as needed to ensure systems are meeting their needs.

Minimum Qualifications Education 1. Bachelor’s Degree required. Computer Science, Information Systems preferred.

Experience 1. Four years of interface development and support experience of complex enterprise software required. 2. Experience with Health Care Payer systems preferred, including but not limited to QNXT, Guiding Care and Pharmacy Benefit Management Systems. 3. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, must have 10 years development experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Strong problem solving through data analysis, programming, debugging code and working with vendor technical teams to identify and implement appropriate solutions to issues. 2. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to thoroughly document and communicate with both technical and business colleagues. 3. Ability to assess requirements from business user community, partner with vendors and other technical teams to implement appropriate and timely solutions. 4. Prior experience working within a health plan preferred.

Computers and Technology 1. Experience working with Cognizant (QNXT, EAM, CWS) and Altruista’s Guiding Care product platforms preferred. 2. Three or more years’ experience with one or more of the following technologies:  Relational Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and a strong working knowledge of ANSI Standard SQL  Recent versions of Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio  SQL Server advanced querying, T-SQL, stored procedure development  SQL Server Integration Services development  Developing Web based applications using C#.Net and Visual basic.Net.  Development experience with HTML, XML, JavaScript, JavaScript libraries. 3. Three or more years’ minimum experience with Agile and SDLC methodologies. 4. Three or more years’ experience developing unit tests and supporting project-testing efforts.
