The Architecture Team Advanced BIM Designer understands the strategic importance of integrated project delivery, while also being proficient at producing a wide range of work utilizing various BIM tools. This person will serve as an integrated teammate in active interdisciplinary projects, while also being an office champion for BIM strategies and leadership. The successful candidate will be a critical member across our team comprised of Architectural, Structural, MEP and Landscape disciplines, to promote best practices and elevate the team’s design and documentation offering.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develops technical solutions to a wide range of programmatic requirements
Develops solutions for a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
Assist and/or lead project teams in BIM project setup
Support project standards coordination with customers
Create BIM families and support for imported families
Proactively mitigate BIM workflow issues and help solve problems wherever they arise
Create, upgrade, and deploy strategies for the BIM implementation effort
Advise on implementation of supporting software, custom toolbars, macros and Dynamo routines for BIM
Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies and make recommendations based upon office needs, workflow process and efficiencies.
Provide BIM onboarding and support training to developing team members.
Apply expertise and guidance actively while engaged in design project delivery.
Works under only general direction / general supervision
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Suite
Proven prior experience with large & complex project delivery using Revit
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
5+ years of architectural/engineering BIM experience in the A/E/C industry
Proven coordination process experience including working with consultants using multiple platforms
Proven ability to manage multiple project efforts and multiple deadlines
Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and engaging in the design process
Enjoy mentoring and teaching a team with various levels of experience
Interest in sustainable design and/or experience with energy modeling software
Experience with advanced modeling programs such as Rhino and programming tools like Grasshopper a plus
