Olive Azure DevOps Engineer in Denver, Colorado

Our Infrastructure team is looking to add an Engineer and continue to advance the cloud capabilities and services/systems for our internal engineering teams. As part of our engineering team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring Olive’s applications build, deploy and run smoothly. You’ll help keep our infrastructure up to date, and use new and existing tools to solve technical problems. At Olive, automation, reliability and efficiency are part of everything we do.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers, engineering efforts, and internal departments in SOA environment.

  • Architect and build high-scale infrastructure for rapidly growing web applications.

  • Foster proactive and cooperative relationships within the project team.

  • Exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Analyze applications and make the necessary changes to optimize performance.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues promptly and in accordance with maintainability goals.

  • Work with a variety of technical and non-technical people.

  • Embrace changing requirements.

  • Be part of an on-call rotation with other members of the Infrastructure team

  • Create and maintain efficient, reliable infrastructure with code

  • Build and maintain tools for deployment, automation, monitoring, and debugging

  • Drive automation using popular cloud orchestration, configuration management, and CI/CD system

  • Responsible for consulting and assisting with the implementation of new capabilities, extending, and administering existing capabilities for infrastructure automation

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering experience

  • A strong understanding of operating systems, networking, and software engineering fundamentals

  • Experience using Azure or other virtualized infrastructure

  • Significant experience with config management tool like SaltStack, Ansible, etc.

  • including orchestration, service-discovery, monitoring, and debugging

  • Proficient in a scripting language (Bash, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, etc.)

  • Experience orchestrating infrastructure using CloudFormation, Terraform, or other similar tooling.

  • Experience building Linux and Windows systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, ContainerLinux, etc.)

  • Administrative experience with SQL and No-SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) (installation, configuration, tuning

  • Strong familiarity with containers and container-orchestration frameworks particularly Kubernetes

  • Networking, automation, and high-level infrastructure architecture experience

  • Experience with IPSEC and/or SSL based VPNs (LibreSwan, OpenSwan, StrongSwan, OpenVPN, VYOS)

  • Deploying or managing infrastructure across Azure regions.

  • LDAP/DNS/PKI experience

  • Familiarity with the Go programming language
