Oracle Data Scientist 4 in Denver, Colorado

Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse big data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.

Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.

We're looking for hands-on data scientists with the expertise and passion to apply research techniques and statistical analysis to security problems in distributed systems, multi-tenant services and large-scale infrastructures. You will be responsible for identification of training data sets; building, training, evaluating and selecting models; and delivering results to the business. A successful candidate will be a person who enjoys diving deep into security data, doing analysis, discovering root causes, and enabling key business decisions that directly impact the security of Oracle's cloud.

Things you’ll do:

  • Prototype and build data models and explorations to understand cloud scale data and its impact on security

  • Consult software development teams in design and architecture of secure systems through Threat Modeling

  • Champion and consult on on data solutions that identify risk, scale alerting and mitigation solutions across Oracle's cloud

Must have Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of data mining, data processing, data science, data modeling, and hypothesis testing

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Quantitative, Computational, or related field

  • 5 years of experience in data science or security related field

  • Programming skills in Python, R, or Java

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Expertise in building scalable and distributed analysis solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with security solutions and platforms

o Authentication and authorization platforms

o vulnerability scanning systems

o code scanning systems

  • Experience with data visualization and presentation, turning complex analysis into insight

  • Experience with statistical/mathematical predictive modeling

  • Experience with machine learning / artificial intelligence

  • Experience collaborating with software development teams, data scientists, business or other technical roles
