Embedded Software Design Engineer SummaryWe are seeking an Embedded Software Design Engineer for our customer inGolden, Colorado. The Embedded Software Design Engineer develops real-timemicrocontroller based embedded software (firmware) for commercial,industrial, and medical products. Defines requirements and architecture forfirmware subsystems, fault tolerance and needs of the system. Designs,prototypes, and tests firmware subsystems per defined requirements andarchitecture. Performs necessary analysis to prove correct operations underdefined conditions. Develops verification test plans and procedures. Workswithin multi-discipline team.Embedded Software Design Engineer Duties/Responsibilities Work with customers to identify product requirements and potentialsolutions Develop software and firmware product architectures to meet productrequirements Work with electrical and hardware engineers to select the bestprocessor, microcontroller, or DSP for the application and system Produce software design, implementation and subsystem integration Produce appropriate documentation in support of the development effort Participate in architecture, code, and documentation reviews Utilize compilers, code management systems, emulators, simulators, etc. Integrate firmware onto the embedded hardware and perform debug Plan and perform software verification and validation and record theresultsEmbedded Software Design Engineer Qualifications BSCE, BSEE or equivalent Experience with C or C++ Experience with software development for embedded microcontroller/DSPdesign Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA 21 CFR Pt. 820,ISO9001, ISO13485) Working knowledge of EMC/EMI/Safety and CE marking requirementsrelative to electronic product development Experience with hardware/software interfaces and integration Solid knowledge and experience in software quality assurance withparticular emphasis to hazard analysis, verification inspections and testing Use of case tools at requirements or design preferred Experience with product requirements documentation and designverification testing Superior communication, planning and problem solving skills A proven track record of achieving product development goals Five or more years of progressive electronics industry experiencepreferred
