TIAA’s Production Services & Architecture (PS&A) team isresponsible for all architecture, engineering and infrastructure operations of our core technology assets as part of a streamlined, strategic approach that ensures low cost, high quality delivery from initial architectural decisions through engineering to long-term operational support. The PS&A team collaborates closely with our business-aligned partners in technology and with key stakeholders across the enterprise.

TIAA is seeking a Lead Ansible Automation Developer for their Charlotte, NC, Denver/Broomfield, CO, Chicago, IL or Iselin, NJ offices. This position will provide leadership in the end-to-end design, development and delivery of technology-enabled automations. This role will play a key role in defining and delivering automated platform installation and configurations and helping to drive best practices and governance. This role will develop Ansible playbooks and modules.


  • Develop Ansible playbooks and modules

  • Provide guidance to diverse stakeholders topromote playbooks through the SDLC

  • Develop, configure and administer DevOps andIT automation solutions

  • Understand and remediate complex issues andtopologies of large enterprises

  • Manage day-to-day technical challenges andcommunicate to management any risks or issues associated with automationactivities

  • Conduct code reviews

  • Respond to customer requests within thedefined SLA



Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience performingwork as a Developer/Engineer in a DevOps/Automation environment

  • Strong experience with the Red Hat AnsibleTool (i.e. developing playbooks and modules)

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working withWindows or Linux Operating Systems

  • Familiar with other infrastructure automationtools (i.e. Puppet, Chef, and Salt)

  • Experience with scripting language (i.e. Python,Perl, Ruby, Bash etc.)

  • Experience with YAML format for playbooks

  • Ability to communicate with diversestakeholders to provide relevant information and make recommendations forsolutions to meet their business requirements, both in writing and verbally


  • Experience working with AWS or Azure

  • Experience working with Infosec
