Job DescriptionThe OSC (Operation Service Center) Logistics Specialist schedules,prepares and ensures delivery of instruments and implants sets for surgery.They are responsible for maintaining accurate records of products as they flowthrough the territory. Accountability of products missing from sets iscritical to ensure proper billings. Good working knowledge of companyproducts, operating systems and procedures is critical.Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties maybe assigned.Utilizes OSC Operation Service Center software application or designatedSoftware Application System to schedule and prepare instruments and implantkits for to facilitate Surgery Case Scheduled ensuring timeliness andaccuracy.Maintain and manage scheduled surgery cases on a daily basisProcess all required order entry as required and directed.Perform all required OSC reporting to measure accuracy, utilization andvalidations.Maintain accurate and complete OSC Bill of Materials (BOMs) for allinstrument and implant kits. Maintain appropriate stocking levels for shelfstock .and. OSC kits. Ensure First In/First out method is being performed forall products. Ensure no expired product in all warehouse areas.Coordinate Mobile OSC and shipment schedules daily to ensure most costeffective methods are being utilized.Required to perform on call support as required.Perform OSC Kit Reviews as required to improve instrument and implantinventory levels to support sales requirements. Conduct reviews as requiredvia the established OSC Operations Checklist.Assist during physical inventories and/or field cycle counts ensuring theoffice inventory PI preparation is performedPerform daily/period freight activity reviews on all FedEx and courier usageto ensure costing is correct and most economical.Utilize the established OSC Checklist for daily, weekly, monthly andquarterly required activities and duties.OSC Specialist could be engaged in Regional Loaner Bank Operations asrequired.For funds, costs or Profits:Will impact asset utilization, Freight, Courier and MOSC expenses andutilizationFor Internal and External Relationships:Internal: Extensive interaction with sales management, sales reps, FieldInventory Supervisor, logistics staff, S.and.N CorporateExternal: Hospital customers and external vendorsFor Organization Influence:Breadth of influence includes all products and organizations in OrthopaedicRecon GBULIMITS OF AUTHORITY:The position assists in the coordination of loaner activity out of theoperation center. Position requires self-reliance and confidence for broadempowerment as directed by a senior OSC and/or the direct supervisor.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:There are non-essential job duties and responsibilities as assigned by thesupervisor.Qualifications:EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Minimum two years college with classes in operations, customer service ordistributiondesired. In lieu of college classes, a combination of education and aboveexperience totaling four years is required. 4 year Bachelor's Degreepreferred.COMPUTER SKILLS:Microsoft Office Applications, basic PC Workstation operation, aptitudetesting required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Up to 2/3 of the time will be spent in the following physical activities:StandWalkSitTalk or hearUse hands to finger, handle or feelStoop, kneel, crouch or crawlReach with hands and armsManual Dexterity: Requires the use of hands and arms to operate computerworkstation, printer/scanner/copier, hand held and cordless scanner,general office and warehouse equipment, and to record written information.Audible/Visual: Performance is essential for PC use. Requires the abilityto hear telephone conversations, discussions during meetings andinstructions given; to communicate with associates. Visual to read Barcodesand inventory labeling.
