This role is with our AWS Outposts Operations team - delivering a new way forInfrastructure to be delivered to our customers. AWS Outposts brings nativeAWS services, infrastructure, and operating models to virtually any datacenter, co-location space, or on-premises facility. Customers can now usethe same AWS APIs, tools, and infrastructure across their on-premises andthe AWS cloud to deliver a truly consistent hybrid experience. The providedAWS Outposts infrastructure is fully managed, maintained, and supported byAWS directly to deliver access to the latest AWS capabilities for ourcustomersWe are looking for a Field Data Center Technician who is highly autonomous andpossesses a "can do" attitude. In this client-facing role, you willtravel to client locations and/or between AWS sites, both locally andinternationally, to install, service, and retrieve AWS equipment. Youwill be expected to manage your time onsite and coordinate materials and laborto ensure high standards and best-in-class client servicing expectations aremet in the most efficient way possible. In this role, your passion fortechnology along with your desire to be the best at your job every day willdeliver amazing results for AWS customers across the world!As a Field Data Center Technician, you will deploy and maintain AWS cloudcomputing infrastructure across a number of locations, including onsiteclient premises and/or customer data centers. This is a customer-facing roleand requires professionalism, excellent communications, and a passion foralways providing customers with the best customer service possible. Youractivities will include (but are not limited to):* Conducting site assessments at client facilities to proactively prepare forthe onsite installation of AWS equipment* Installing/expanding AWS infrastructure at the client premises, customerdata center, and/or co-located data center environment* Troubleshooting network installations .and. configurations, to include basicbreak/fix and/or decommissioning, as appropriate* Thinking proactively while working to prevent support issues and/ortroubleshoot problems before they are realized by the customer* Participating in efforts to improve operational efficiencies through theidentification and development of SOPs, SLAs, and tools* Partnering with and/or supporting third-party contractors to enable aseamless client experience while meeting established SLAs* May participate in efforts to train and/or mentor new employees,ensuring a consistent focus on best-in-class client servicing* May be required to work outside of standard working hours, to includenights and/or weekends (on-call rotations and/or on demandescalations) in support of client scheduling and/or time-sensitive escalationsPhysical Requirements:* Physical ability to push and/or pull heavy objects into position(regularly lift up to 49 lbs and participate in team lifts of 50+ lbs)* Ability to on occasion work in cramped spaces, elevated locations and/orat heights and from ladders, as requiredTravel Requirement:* Frequent travel (50%+ to both domestic and international clientlocations) requiredBasic Qualifications* 2+ years working in a data center operations environment* 2+ years of experience with data center equipment and rackbuild/installation efforts* 2+ years of experience working with networking protocols/technologies(TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3)* Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with PolygraphAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
