A PMO Operations Strategist is responsible for collecting project data, consolidating information and distilling and communicating to stakeholders. The Operations Strategist will work with stakeholders and contributors to gather information and ensure there is alignment and consistency in the level of reporting, standards tools and templates and governance so our teams can better manage their budgets and Roadmaps. A part of this role is managing project accounting for each product, ensuring the budgets are on track against the capacity of each program.

The primary goals of the Operations Strategist are; data gathering and consolidation, ensure stakeholders and dependency teams are aligned via communications, and ensure each team is tracking their budget and time spent appropriately.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understanding and reporting on how different projects/programs/products are spending (actuals) and managing against projections

  • Identifying opportunities for continual improvement

  • Ensuring relevant standards, process and regulations are upheld

  • Work with the mission teams to ensure that we have consistent project reporting and data

  • Assisting to establish clear communication framework for stakeholders on Mission including capacity and investment outcomes

  • Help to define consistent Project definition, define and maintain project codes

  • Work within Project Accounting systems to ensure project codes are accounted for and accurate and properly communicated to Program teams for Timesheets

  • Frequent pulls and reporting on Timesheet metrics and training in Timesheets for various members of Global Product as needed

Workstream Responsibilities

  • Work supportively and collaboratively with other teams

  • Build relationships and trust with key stakeholders to support program delivery

  • Communicate with program managers and owners in all verticals (UX, Product, Dev, QA)

  • Support the relevant financial initiatives that align with Product budget needs

Key Challenges

  • Understanding processes around governance, reporting and demand management across Global Product

  • Ensuring understanding and adoption of the processes, tools and templates

  • Working in a matrixed and virtual environment

  • Working with many stakeholders at varying levels of responsibility

  • Working on multiple projects and tasks at one time

  • Working with a global customer base and engaging effectively and collaboratively with people from different cultures

  • Building internal confidence in a situation of consistent change

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience managing project actuals, project reporting and budgeting

  • Strong skills in critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions (e.g. partnering, conflict management, consulting, etc.)

  • Proven capability to understand, communicate and meet requirements from key stakeholders

  • Must be able to understand the overall business strategy to ensure components of the Platform and technology capabilities vision align with those of management and key stakeholders

  • The ability to drive impactful change in an organization. As a very results-driven person, it’s gratifying to be a part of a process that helps bring high-priority programs to completion.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience with Portfolio and delivery tools such as Oracle, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office

The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $80000-90000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
