Right now, we are seeking a SeniorDevSecOps Engineer based at Western Union‘s Global Headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

In this role, you will be imbedded in multiple SCRUM teams to serve as the senior DevSecOps engineer. You’ll assess security threats and vulnerabilities, assist with automation security testing, and consult on applications running on AWS. You’ll need to be driven and self-motivated to negotiate with developers and product owners to improve the cybersecurity architecture while also meeting strategic targets.

  • Provide consulting onweb, container and AWS application security matters to development, engineeringand network operations teams.

  • Assist with the designof cloud security strategy and processes.

  • Work as part of theproject and development teams as DevSecOps and assure that applications aredeveloped in a secure manner.

  • Follow the DevSecOpsapproach to enable project teams to quickly deliver secure applications.

  • Provide consulting onweb, container and AWS applications security matters to development,engineering and network operations teams.

  • Work with DevOps teamsto make sure cloud and application architecture are following WU’s cybersecuritybest practices.

  • Work with applicationowners, IT, developers and project teams on targeted penetration tests of thewhole application stack from network to application and processes.

  • Manage and runadvanced threat and vulnerability assessment tools.

  • Work with stakeholderson reducing the risk level of applications and underlying infrastructure(on-prem and cloud).

  • Play a part inautomation of security testing and reporting efforts.

  • Evaluate applicationsfor appropriate and effective use of security controls using tools andtechniques such as source code analysis, vulnerability scanners, and manualtesting techniques.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Recommendat least 6 years of information security and/or application security experience

  • Degreein Computer Science, or other equivalent disciplines preferred; a graduate’sdegree in the field is a plus

  • Expertin application security, code review

  • Expertwith vulnerability assessment tools such as Qualys, Burp Suite, MetaSploit orsimilar tools

  • Expertwith application and network security/penetration testing tools andmethodologies

  • Strong experience in the securityconsiderations around virtualization (Container) and cloud (AWS)and other cloud security controls

  • Strongexperience withOWASPand web technologies (scripting,SSL, HTTP/S) and their security requirements

  • Knowledgeof modern web and mobile applications frameworks and their securityrequirements

  • Knowledgeof network architecture, protocols, and standards

  • Abilityto communicate technical security requirements to technical and non-technicalpersonnel

  • Abilityto collaborate with technical and vendor personnel, cloud service providers
