POSITION SUMMARY :

The Senior Product Manager of Service Solutions role will be responsible for products in the Service Solutions Business Line, which offers a complete range of engineered fastening solutions to different applications in including Oil & Gas, Municipality, and Marine business. This hands-on position will be based out Denver, CO, and will be reporting to the Business Line Director. The position will be a crucial input to the business’ overall direction of its products and markets served and is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, sizing market potential and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing teams to develop and launch new products. The Senior Product Manager will develop plans to ensure revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction targets are met. The PM will champion and implement all new product and market strategies while determining the most effective and successful approach to growing the existing portfolio.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Senior Product Manager, your primary focus will be on providing the business the critical information and guidance as it relates to the 4-P’s (Price, Product, Promotion, Place). This person will be a significant and essential influence on the overall direction of the business. Therefore, Band-It is seeking a champion, with a winning spirit, that can provide evidence that they grasp and can excel in the following areas:

  • Development of product lines and ability to exit rationalized models - traditional product management competency

  • Strategic direction setting - Product/Segment road mapping

  • Competitive benchmarking and market share/trend analysis pricing and promotion. Develop market insight through the voice of customer research, in-depth competitive analysis, and market segmentation

  • Deep understanding of the market with the ability to identify opportunities

  • Develop customer relationships with the knowledge they will participate in market research and provide feedback on early prototypes

  • Manage product line revenue, margin, pricing, and investment

  • New Product Development experience from VOC to the concept and through product launch to meet the business case

  • Commercial process improvements acting as a persistent catalyst for change

  • Drives 80/20 complexity reduction across the product lines including product rationalization to optimize offering and complexity and manage the product life cycle

  • Drives margin expansion for the Product Line by working with Operations \ Supply Chain to drive cost reductions (PPV), Engineering to drive VA\VE projects and Commercial team on pricing

  • Full understanding and successful execution of a staged NPD Process in a manufacturing environment

  • Works closely with Engineering to identify root causes to product issues and resolve problems; also works on setting up value-based pricing

180-DAY OBJECTIVES:

It is critical for the individual hired to come into this role enthusiastic and ready to work, with clear objectives laid before them. In the first 6-months, the expectation for this candidate will be as follows:

  • A key driver in the commercial process to over-deliver to our larger customers

  • Absorb day-to-day activities as it relates to the products, price, and promotion

  • Deep market understanding; an ID growth opportunity of the annual strategic planning process

  • Establish essential product roadmaps for a three-year horizon roadmap

  • Learn the business’ products, customers, and competition

  • Product Management lead working closely with Engineering to develop new products

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area (MBA or MS preferred)

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least four of those years in developing a new product in an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Ability to recognize value sell opportunities and create sales tools to support the field; can also understand and demonstrate technical products

  • Experience working with competitive pricing, promotions with manufactured products

  • International experience will be considered a plus

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
