TheDevice Engineer will work with Product Management and other Engineers todesign, develop, and maintain network device integration software. PrimaryResponsibilitiesDevelop support for emerging next generation technologies in the networkingsecurity spaceDevelop device integration solutions for products from Palo Alto, Juniper,Check Point etc.Strong core Java coding skills, including an understanding ofoptimization, performance ramifications of coding decisions andobject-oriented designGather technical requirements for integrating with the security devices. Thisincludes reading administrator guides, user guides, CLI guides etc.Learn the inner workings of the security device and converting that logic intoa structure that the application can usePick apart software, analyze it and become a subject matter expert onitRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,Engineering or a related field OR demonstrated ability to meet the jobrequirements through a comparable number of years of applicable workexperienceStrong core Java coding skills, including an understanding ofoptimization, performance ramifications of coding decisions andobject-oriented designScripting experience in one of the following: Python, BASHLinux and general command-line experienceFamiliarity with basic computer networking principlesExperience with and working knowledge of: Maven, SQL, JUnit, XML,JSON, RESTful web services and logback/log4jRegex experienceOutstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Must be willing to work in a fast paced environment with multiple roles, anddemonstrate high emotional intelligenceFlexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasksPossess a positive attitude and work well with othersPreferred QualificationsExperience in an Agile/Scrum software development lifecycleCisco network and/or security certification is a plus (CCIE / CCNA)Cisco, Check Point, Juniper expertise preferred but any firewalltechnology is acceptableWhat it Takes to be Part of the FireMon TeamFireMon provides persistent network security for hybrid environments througha powerful fusion of real-time asset visibility, continuous compliance andautomation.
