United Launch Alliance (ula) Software Engineer IC2 Mission Operations in Denver, Colorado

This position reports to the Software Engineering Organization and is deployedto support the ULA Mission Integration Value Stream. The Software MissionOperations Engineer will be part of an engineering team that is primarilyresponsible for integration, test, and, verification of final flightsoftware parameters and mission flight software builds to perform guidance,navigation and control of launch vehicles and upper stages during powered andcoast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise andorbital insertion, as well as during staging events. May leadcross-functional teams and play a critical role in process and tooldevelopment, execution, and continuous improvement. This position has various programmatic and technical responsibilities duringintegration of a mission which requires interaction across multipletechnologies and a system level understanding of flight software and theinteraction between various systems. Programmatic responsibilities includeschedule status, program & external customer interface, and coordinationwith the Mission Manager (or Program Office). Technical responsibilitiesinclude sequence engineering, parameter integration, test executionincluding operation of the real-time testbed, verification, dataanalysis, risk management (this involves status of risk items and closureof assigned items), as well as coordination to support technical reviewboards. This position applies system level understanding of flight softwarecontrol logic, sequencing, and parameter derivation spanning guidance &navigation, attitude control systems, propulsion, propellantmanagement, avionics and ground system interfaces to ensure all aspects ofthe space launch vehicle perform as intended in flight, including launchsupport and review of post-flight data. This position also requiresaccountability for software/parameter configuration management, on-timeschedule status reports, on-time milestone completion(facilitation/reporting up only), and proper coordination withinternal/externaExternal Additional Requirements Bachelor s degree in Software, Aerospace, Mechanical, orElectrical Engineering from a traditional college or university vs. onlinedegree programs. A minimum of 2 years experience in the aerospace industry Ability to strictly adhere to an established and documentedprocess, with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate issues. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)External Preferred Qualifications Strong Communication skills (verbal and written, includingpresentations) Experience with software programming and configuration managementprinciples. Experience working with embedded software systems Familiar with the Linux operating system Strong understanding of data analysis, systems engineering,and test principles. Basic understanding of launch vehicle systems. Experience with software scripting/tools and the softwaredevelopment process. Experience leading teams and projects.
