The Sr Software Engineer will help ensure that our software, systems andinfrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. Regularly designs, develops, implements and supports internal businesssystems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting,and/or business intelligence systems, as required to deliver proactivemethods to enhance our overall security posture. This software must meetcustomer's requirements, scale easily, remove the limitations oftraditional networking solutions, and support deployment in highly availableenvironments. The Sr Software Engineer will work with a team of SoftwareEngineers on complex projects and normally receives little instruction ondaily work. Technical assignments require sound judgment when resolvingissues and making recommendations as well as considerable initiative. Oftenleads and mentors other Software Engineers and is responsible for overallsystem performance and reliability.ResponsibilitiesTechnical System Expertise: Understands system protocols, how systemsoperate and data flows. Aware of current technology benefits. Expected toindependently develop a full software stack. Understands the buildingblocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to completesoftware and automation work. Independent study of current technology isexpected. Interact with architects and principal engineers to define systemrequirements and ensure systems meet reliability, availability,maintenance and performance.Technical Engineering Services: Drives engineering projects by developingsoftware solutions, conducting tests and inspections and preparing reportsand calculations.Innovation: Contributes to designs that implement new ideas which improve anexisting or new system/process/service. Contributes to designs thatimplement new ideas which utilize new frameworks to improve an existing or newsystem/process/service. Understands and can apply new industryperspectives to our existing business model. Review existing designs andprocesses to highlight more efficient ways to complete existing workload moreeffectively through industry perspectives. Posesses security knowledge andexperience that will foster new ideas for improving various faucets ofsecurity across the organization.Technical Leadership: Collaborates with technical teams and utilizes systemexpertise to deliver technical solutions. Continuously learns and teachesothers existing and new technologies. Contributes to the development of othersthrough mentoring or in house workshops and learning sessions. Expected tolead base and associate level engineers.Technology Strategy: Contributes to new and existing technology options thatsupport business goals.Technical Writing: Maintains knowledge of existing technology documents.Writes basic documentation on how technology works. Creates cleardocumentation for new code and systems used. Documenting systems designs,presentations, and business requirements for consumption and considerationat the manager level. Understands the protection of company IntellectualProperty Rights (IPR).Creates, manages, and uses dashboard for continuous monitoring, alertingand health check of applications, and the underlying infrastructure,improving the quality of services using the monitoring feedback.Ownership of the incident management response process, lessons learned,and corrective action follow-up for Security Solutions products and is readyto lead/facilitate production outage calls/issues when required.Lead efforts to continually improve performance and reliability for SecuritySolutions productsMaintains technical skills and expertise through continued education andtraining.Responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management asneeded.Qualifications5-7 years Technical engineering experience.
